Bridge-Builder

“Not everyone has to do everything—but we each have something to offer. Start where you are, do what you can, and reach out to others. That’s how collective change begins. That’s the quiet, powerful work of building bridges that last.”

~ Dr. Trenita Childers

I love building connections—across people, places, and ideas.

During my Peace Corps service in the Dominican Republic, I worked alongside communities to link local needs with resources and programs that could support their goals. That spirit of connection continues to guide my work.

In my research, I explore ways to bridge sectors—like health, education, and social services—to better serve communities. I also contribute to efforts that connect research with policy, and as a writer, I’m committed to making research clear, accessible, and relevant for the people it’s meant to serve.

Bridge-building isn’t easy. It takes time, resources, and deep intention—and most of all, it requires humility. When you’re moving between spaces, you won’t always be the expert. But as a bridge, you can listen deeply, learn continuously, and gently bring others along. The work is hard, but the impact ripples outward—healing, connecting, and opening paths for those who come next.
